From our Director, Sharon Kneale…
Its time2talk ‘What’s Hot’
Our clients often ask about ‘what’s hot;’ what are we getting asked to do most of? Are there any trends?
We are very excited to report that at present the stand out trend in our market (both regional and metro) is a focus on creating the best possible workplaces for our people/building great workplace cultures and relationships.
Increasing emphasis is being placed on driving positive behaviours and stamping out undesirable behaviours in workplaces. Over the past 2 years we have delivered 5 major roll outs of workshops to staff and leaders in various sectors and industries including local government, water, food manufacturing, shipping, not for profit organisations and more.
These workshops approach the topic more positively than traditional compliance/legislative directed training and focus is really placed on the benefits of a healthy workplace for all.
- All are accountable for their own behaviours
- Benefits of a healthy workplace culture
- A great day at work means a great time at home
- The impact of your behaviour on others
- Work/life balance is not about how long you spend at work but how you take yourself home from work… its about your energy
- Above below the line behaviours
- Calling out undesirable behaviour
- Knowing where to go to for help and support
- Saying no to bullying, harassment and behaviours that detract from a safe, healthy and productive workplace
It has been rewarding to see individuals at all levels stepping up, taking accountability and understanding their impact on their workplace culture.
We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with many of our clients in this critical space, helping equip their staff for the challenges of today’s changing and dynamic work environment.
Remember, down time is productive time, self care is critical and your behaviour does have a significant impact on those around you – at home and at work!
Introducing Judy to the time2talk Regional Facilitation team!
I’m an active outdoors girl who loves horse riding, snow skiing, water skiing and sport. I also take to the stage with our local amateur theatre group, finding great pleasure in bringing a role to life. I’m a keen traveler, having found paths slightly less travelled and more adventurous – it’s so good for the soul and broadens your horizons on every level. Working with people as a coach, teacher and facilitator is incredibly rewarding because of the connections, challenges and break throughs you are entrusted to encourage and enable. I’m passionate about contributing to a sustainable planet and a future for our youth.
Introducing Tania to the time2talk Melbourne Facilitation team!
Hi! I’m Tania, one of the newer facilitators at time2talk. At work, I love meeting people from all levels of all industries and hearing how they work, and how they work best. I’m fascinated by high trust, thriving workplaces. In my downtime I love reading, listening to podcasts, swimming, walking and yoga. I started my career as a teacher and theatre practitioner and remain besotted by the power of language to influence. I look forward to meeting you.
REFLECTION ON MENTAL HEALTH MONTH
time2talk Leadership facilitated almost 10 in-house workshops in the last few weeks and had a great group of organisations attend our public Mental Health Workshop earlier this month. Well done to these organisations’ for taking the time out to build cultures that are supportive of those with mental health issues.
The statistics indicate that at least 1:4 adolescents have a mental health issue and 65% of them are reluctant to talk to anyone about this. As a mum of 3 adolescents, I find those stats frightening. My daughter had 40 friends over for her 18th birthday; reflecting on the stats in relation to the group gathered, ten of her close friends may have some sort of mental health issue and are quite possibly reluctant to talk about it.
In a few years this group will be entering our workforce, so now is the time to start strategically thinking about how you will manage these issues within your organisation, for your existing and future team members.
